Folk/Review Matyascorvinus - Across The Acheron

It all began with the ukulele. About six years ago, Matyascorvinus read a paper about this extraordinary instrument. Soon after, the first ukulele was at home. Matyascorvinus started to study the fundamentals and discovered what an expressive instrument was in his hands. Experiments started, and, for example, Bach was played. Later, Matyascorvinus changed to guitar, and while honing his technique, he has been ignoring all the theory of notes and chords and writing the music following his intuition, aiming to find beauty, serenity, and simplicity in his music.

“Across The Acheron” is a profound musical work and an allegory that reminds us about our limitless lives ending. Memento mori—the idea of “remembering you will die”, which was widely embraced by the old artists—is addressed herein and highlights our ephemeral nature of being in this world. Nevertheless, this EP has a different angle of redemption and hopefulness. The story is about salvation; it is going from darkness into light. Let’s rejoice in life as long as there is time!

”Across The Acheron” is the title of this EP; it brings about images of passing through pain and sorrow. The music is set against this potent metaphor, which urges people to meditate over vulnerability in existence and change.

In this way, Matyascorvinus weaves a story that is equally introspective as well as very personal and leaves us thinking about our own journey through life. This is rich, textured music that is haunting yet hopeful at times.

Suffering and losing are portrayed as though they represent a part of a long journey from which one might eventually emerge into light and hopefulness. It shows how strong the human spirit can be and how music is able to explain complicated notions and feelings.

In a world that too often seems like it only has room for negativity and desolation, “Across The Acheron” serves as a tender reminder that there can still be recovery and prosperity. Matyascorvinus invites us to reflect on our own individual paths of existence. We can also see that transformation is constant for everything, as is the possibility for recovery and renewal.

To conclude, “Across The Acharon” is very deep-thinking and soul-enriching music. In remembrance of transience and in memory of healing abilities. The well-atmospheric music is also highly emotional, painting a hypnotizing sonic canvas and encouraging introspection and self-search. It’s an EP to remind us just how precious life is and why we should try to remain optimistic amidst our troubles.
