Rock/Review Erelah - Epochs

Erelah is a studio project by Alexander Platon, aimed at songwriting and a DIY approach to music production. With a passion for creating cinematic music with rock influences, he invites guest musicians to collaborate on various projects. His unique sound is a blend of atmospheric compositions and powerful rock melodies. Erelah draws inspiration from cinematic scores and rock classics, resulting in a sound that is both nostalgic and innovative.

Erelah's evocative EP "Epochs" features five masterfully composed tracks that span several eras of the artist's life. The phrase "Epochs" accurately captures the various stages and emotional terrains that Erelah has traversed throughout the years. Eleven different musicians have contributed to each track, which is a collaborative effort that gives the songs life and uniqueness.

"The Flowers," the first song on the EP, instantly establishes a somber and contemplative mood. A deep, engrossing experience is produced by the subtle interaction between the instruments and Erelah's reflective lyrics. The next song, "Rain," captures a atmosphere of sorrow and contemplation. The emotional story is made more complex by the way each note seems to mirror the pitter-patter of the rain.

One of the EP's highlights, "We Were Dancing," brings a layer of nostalgia and melancholy. Here, the musicians' teamwork is apparent in the arrangements, which marvelously accentuate the idea of ethereal happiness and memories. With haunting melodies and strong instrumental supporting, "Deception" explores themes of trust and betrayal in a more sombre and indicative environment.

"Another Symphony," the EP's final track, is very meaningful to Erelah personally. This tune, which was once titled "Servant to the Sun," has been in production since 2005, making it the EP's oldest and most developed song. Its depth of passion and intricacy show the years of polishing. The song, which captures the spirit of Erelah's journey and creative development, is a perfect coda.

Erelah's commitment to his art is seen in "Epochs," and the musicians' camaraderie adds a special depth to the piece. The EP not only demonstrates Erelah's capacity to write music that is profoundly personal and meaningful, but it also emphasizes the transformational potential of teamwork in the creative process. Every song captures a moment in time and a range of emotions, resulting in a moving and well-rounded story.
