Rock/Review Media Stres - Diorama Mirage
Arriving from north of Croatia, Media Stres is a four-piece rock band from the city of Čakovec formed in 2012. They are known for their energetic live performances. Media Stres has so far released three EPs and played 100+ concerts all around the Balkan region as well as some other European countries. The band consists of powerful vocals and growling guitars from Karlo Komorski, atmospheric and melodic lead guitar tones of Arian Peharda, and a tight, driving rhythm section of bassist Aleksandar Hutinec and drummer Matej Obadić.
With "Diorama Mirage," their first full-length album, Media Stres offers a powerful and profoundly reflective auditory experience that delves into contemporary alienation, introspection, and emotional upheaval. The band creates a raw and engrossing sound by drawing inspiration from rock giants like Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, and Audioslave as well as the experimental textures of Radiohead, Muse, and Interpol.
The DIY philosophy that inspired "Diorama Mirage" is what makes it unique. After taking a break, the band came back with a newfound feeling of purpose and recorded the entire album at their bassist's home studio. Because of this practical method, they were able to capture unadulterated emotions and unbridled energy while staying faithful to their creative vision. Because of its genuineness and passion, the album strikes a chord with listeners, feeling both strong and intimate.
The tracks demonstrate Media Stres' flexibility, ranging from dark, ambient moments to powerful, heavy-hitting choruses. A gritty yet melodious trip that captivates listeners from beginning to end is produced by the interaction of distorted guitars, throbbing basslines, and expressive vocals.
More than just an album, "Diorama Mirage" is a declaration of creative integrity and tenacity, demonstrating that Media Stres is a group that isn't scared to push boundaries while remaining loyal to its origins.
