Alpha Petulay was born in Congo and raised in Brazil. She began composing at the age of ten. It was in Brazil that her musical career began. At twenty years old, she self-produced her first album, Delight Tribal (2001), surrounded by Brazilian musicians. The album was wonderfully received and opened the door to numerous festivals, such as Recbeat or Recife Rock. She also signed a contract with the city of Recife (north-east of Brazil) to perform during carnival periods.
